Call for Workshop Proposals

Deadline for proposal submission: May 15, 2022

The IEEE International Conference on Wearable and Implantable Body Sensor Networks (BSN 2022) is sponsored by IEEE-EMBS to address the challenges in the emerging sensor medical/healthcare systems and networks. BSN 2022 will be co-organized with the BHI 2022 (IEEE International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics). The joint program (BHIBSN) will have world-renowned speakers from academic and research institutes, government agencies, and industry. Body sensor networks provide innovative ways to improve treatment outcomes and patients’ comfort. They offer novel ways to measure physiology, behavior observations from users. Leveraging innovative systems, communication modules, on-chip and off-line data processing and modeling, these measurements are turned into actionable information. Closed-loop BSN with therapeutic systems and interventional functions are becoming a reality.

IEEE BSN 2022 will be co-organized with IEEE BHI 2022 (2022 IEEE International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics), from 27-30 September, 2022. It will provide a unique forum to showcase enabling technologies of devices and sensors, hardware and software systems, predictive models, databases, and big data analytics that optimize the acquisition, transmission, processing, monitoring, storage, retrieval, analysis, visualization and interpretation of vast volumes of multi-modal biomedical data, as well as related social, behavior, environmental, and geographical data. It will also demonstrate the deployment of BSN informatics solutions that integrate key technologies including machine learning, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), mHealth, e-Health, human computer interface, telemedicine, bioinformatics, sensors, imaging, and public health monitoring, to achieve patient-centric and outcome-driven effective health care.

BSN 2022 will provide dedicated networking social events and special topics workshops to encourage BSN 2022 participants to exchange knowledge and insights, and to cultivate collaborations.

Proposals for Workshops

The BSN 2022 Workshops are categorized into regular workshops and tutorials. Regular workshops will cover current and future development of biomedical and health informatics at the intersection of computer and information sciences, health analytics, personal genomics, precision medicine, smart sensors, POC, mobile devices and behavioral and integrative informatics. Tutorial workshops will provide reviews of an emerging technology or application area of biomedical and health informatics, with a focus area such as precision medicine and preventive care, but may also involve registrants through a hands-on experience or demonstrations.  A workshop will be delivered by a group of leading researchers and pioneers in their respective areas in a half-day format with a nominal fee charged to registrants. The proposals will be reviewed by the Workshop Co-Chairs. Please note that workshop submissions will be included in the digital program of BSN 2022 but will not appear in IEEE Xplore Proceedings.  A website will be made available to Workshop registrants to download any materials provided by the Workshop organizer(s). Workshop organizer(s) may provide additional material such as handouts to participants during the Workshop. Note that workshops bridging BSN with BSN topics, and targeting audiences from both communities, are especially encouraged.

Proposal Submission

Please submit your workshop proposal by May 15th through the EDAS management system https://edas.info/N29626. Proposals should include the following information: Names and Affiliations of Organizers, Brief Workshop Description (including motivation, goals and intended audience, <500 words), Proposed Format (e.g., panel session, demonstration, invited talks), and Expected Duration (suggested 75-150 min). Presentations and materials offered to workshop registrants will be reviewed by the workshop scientific committee. The organizers are fully responsible for ensuring the quality of the workshop content.

Please follow the template at this link for your proposal.
